Short Circuit Laboratory serving electrical Industries and utilities by rendering testing services for more than 40 years. It has state of the art facilities to conduct testing on electrical equipments. CPRI is a member of STL (Short Circuit Testing Liaison), a world renowned group of International certification bodies for Short Circuit testing and also accredited by M/s. Intertek (formerly known as ASTA) of UK. Short Circuit Laboratory is accredited by NABL and BIS at National level and INMETRO, Brazil for labelling program for Distribution Transformers.

Short Circuit Laboratory has the state of art facility to test and certify all electrical equipment like Distribution Transformers, Current Transformers, Potential Transformers, Low voltage switchgear and control gear equipment (MCB/MCCB/RCCB/ACB/Fuses/Starter Modules etc.) and associated panel assemblies [LT Panels (PCC/MCC) / Distribution Boards / Feeder Pillars/ LV busways etc.], Power Cables and its accessories, Power connectors, Disconnectors, Load Break Switches, Earth Electrodes, HT Bus ducts, HT Panels etc. and many other related power system apparatus.

Research & Development Activities:

The laboratory undertakes applied research for development of electrical products. The laboratory is also capable of doing R&D activities based on specific problem oriented research.
