Brief Description about the division:

• RTL Guwahati was set up in the year 2007 with a view to cater to the testing, certification and evaluation requirements of electrical power equipment manufacturing industries, utilities and consumers in the north-eastern region (NER). RTL Guwahati also acts as a liaison unit of CPRI with various customers in the region and co-ordinates the testing needs which are beyond its scope, but within capabilities of CPRI Bangalore and other units. The facilities available in the laboratory are also utilized for Research and Development and consultancy activities.
• The laboratory is equipped with facilities to carry out testing & certification of insulating oils in power transformer as per IS 1866/IEC 60422. The unit also have facility for conducting Dissolved Gas Analysis (DGA) of power transformer; an important diagnostics tool for assessing the internal condition of the transformer.
